Starting Our Year Off Right!
Our shop has had a busy start to the year working on a variety of exciting customer projects! Let’s take a look at a few things we’ve been working on.
54 Roller Cone II
This 54 Roller Cone II came to us in need of disassembly and seat reconditioning. This crusher is unique in that the seat is in the shape of a “V”, and instead of having bushings, it is an all bearing crusher, making frequent maintenance crucial for optimal performance.
Repair is necessary to ensure easier disassembly and helps to keep the crusher completely level. As the seat wears over time, this can affect the height, and in turn affect the open and closed side settings or the shim setting. We were able to get this crusher in tip-top shape to ensure this crusher can produce the precise product the customer is looking for.
42×65 Hydraset Housing
Our customer sent this 42×65 Hydraset housing to us with a big problem—it was leaking oil. To get to the bottom of this issue, our first step was disassembly and a full inspection. We then machined it to the correct dimensions and reassembled it with all new parts making the troublesome oil leak a thing of the past.
5.5 Symons Head
This Symons 5.5 head had seen better days. It came to us with a worn-out mantle seat, ball and wipers. Our team got right to work with an inspection to make sure the shaft has a good fit to the head. If the shaft is loose, it can cause an oil leak.
After we determined the shaft fit was good, we got to work making the necessary repairs and ensuring that the relations between the ball, shaft, and seals were correct and that the seal was tight when mounted to the crusher. This head is now good to go and ready to get to work!
