Marion & Mellott Employees Rock the 2022 VBL Awards
2022 is now in the rear view window and Mellott ended the year by honoring some of our amazing employees with our yearly VBL (Value Based Leadership) Awards. Please join us in congratulating these employees on winning Mellott’s 2022 VBL Awards!
SAFETY – DALE LASHLEY, Service
Promoting a Healthy and Safe Culture
Dale is a safety leader in the service shop. His work area is consistently up to standards. He trains many of the new hires and is always preaching and teaching safety daily. While a sometimes-rough exterior is evident it gives way to the commitment he has to keep everyone safe and teach them the proper way to do a task. Dale is active in safety meetings and a voice for those around him. He plans safety in each task whether it be in the shop or in the field traveling. He has clearly empowered himself and those around him to own safe behavior and awareness.
INTEGRITY – DENNY MELLOTT, Warehouse
Inspiring Trust and Confidence
Denny is simply a great person to know. He always has a big smile and cares about others in the organization and industry including customers and teammates. Last year one of the ladies in the organization had a flat tire. Denny located a jack and changed the tire for her and, oh yes, it was 90 degrees outside. His caring attitude and actions are truly what inspires trust and confidence on the Mellott Team. Thank you, Denny, for portraying our values-based culture.
COMMITMENT – JAMES HAFER, Crushing
Achieving Stability in our Relationships and Partnerships
Jim is committed to his team and to the equipment he operates. He takes pride in his work and in his machine. Recently we had to change tires on his loader which is an incredibly expensive investment. Jim efficiently operated over 7000 hours in the pit loader prior to having to replace them. The attention to detail and commitment to make changes and adapt to the conditions around him takes laser focus every day. He understands that one wrong turn could cost the company thousands of dollars. He is not only able to keep up with plant production but takes care of the equipment at the same time, which can easily go by the wayside when pushing for more production. Jim was able to more than double the life expectancy of a $100,000 set of tires, thus being a major part of the efficiency and profitability of his project.
RESPECT – JODY MCCLINTOCK, Human Resources
Teamwork, Fulfillment, and Self-Esteem
Jody has demonstrated a strong commitment to her position in Human Resources and the people that she serves. She is true a professional. She says it best when she states,
“I strive to always be respectful of candidates and employees. As the number of both of have increased in recent years… no matter what their situation might be, I listen and treat them the way I would want to be treated.” A company leader recently said, “Jody, is very helpful, a pleasure to work with and is clearly committed to her position and positive growth.”. Thank you, Jody for nurturing an environment of Respect at Mellott
EXCELLENCE – ROBBIE ROBINSON, Marion Machine
Achieving Optimal Results
Robbie has been on the Marion shop team for almost ten years. His great work ethic demonstrates his willingness to help and commitment to doing the right thing. He Serves as the assembly and disassembly team at Marion. In many ways he is the last line of defense when it comes to getting things completed correctly and on time. The team appreciates his dedication to quality and a job done right. We look forward to Robbie’s continued support as we grow the Marion operation.
