2023-Year in Review!

The team at Marion Machine has consistently shown that they are committed to overall growth and improvement.  In 2023, Marion Machine experienced their best sales year since they began their partnership with Mellott in 2017.  The highs and lows of the last six years have been learning experiences.  These experiences have led to the rise of a company that is now more developed than ever!

A New Addition to Management Team

In late 2022, Geoff Welcyng assumed the role of General Manager of Southeastern Service and Marion Operations.  With 26 years of experience in the aggregates and mining industry, Geoff  was a welcomed addition to the team at Marion Machine.  His previous employment includes working for Nance Corporation, Telsmith, and Metso.

Additional hiring needs were identified and filled in 2023.  Although the addition of a few completely new positions caused some growing pains, teammates at Marion Machine quickly rose to the occasion and restructured their processes and procedures.  Above all, throughout this time, they continued to still provide our customers with excellent service!

We Meet Challenges Head-On

Reflecting on the year, a company highlight includes repairing a gyratory part that was over 100 years old.  The nine-month process was arduous, as the team was not given any drawings or real specifications to utilize. Other highlights include completing a full rebuild on a crusher and the installation of a mobile crushing repair station on the campus.

Moving Forward

“I consider 2023 to be a success.  I look forward to more growth and improvement in 2024.”—Geoff Welcyng, General Manager of Southeastern Service and Marion Operations

Our Metso HP 800 Mainframe had a loose shaft and we re-fit the shaft back to OEM specs with a 2-week-turnaround to get a 3.5-million-ton-plant back up and running.
