Employee Spotlight: Ronnie Loftis

Ronnie Loftis is a fixture at Marion Machine and after 43 years of hard work, it’s difficult not to become a familiar face.

Ronnie began working in the machine shop in 1977, and worked his way up to Sales Manager. He knows the ins and outs of machining, quality control, and reading prints. He is cool as a cucumber in any situation; while dealing with customers, when dealing with vendors, and when working with co-workers.

Ronnie is calm under pressure.
He truly knows how to read his customers and help give them exactly what they need, right when they need it. This is why he has had a close relationship with several customers for many years. His experience, expertise, and excellence will be missed greatly.

I asked Ronnie the following questions:

  1. What’s your team like?
    1. A great group of people.
  2. What is your favorite part of your job?
    1. Interacting with and helping customers.
  3. How have you grown professionally since beginning your career at Marion Machine?
    1. I grew a lot. I made it from machinist on the floor to a sales manager.
  4. What do you like to do outside of work?
    1. I like to go golfing, trout fishing and camping with my family.

Our Metso HP 800 Mainframe had a loose shaft and we re-fit the shaft back to OEM specs with a 2-week-turnaround to get a 3.5-million-ton-plant back up and running.
